Moving from Non-Fiction to Fiction

14 Feb

Making the switch from thinking of myself as a non-fiction writer to a fiction writer shouldn’t be all that difficult. It’s still writing after all, and even though I have focused on selling my non-fiction for the past 18 years, I never stopped creating worlds, characters, or stories. When my two oldest daughters were young I made up stories on the spot to entertain them, and their friends. One such story, “The Living Laundry Pile” has become the stuff of family legends. Eleven years later, my daughters are still hounding me to get that story in the computer and share it with the world. My daughters grew up to be smart young women, maybe I should listen to them.
